Some Fascinating Poll Results - Americans are starting to agree on some very important things
Maybe this will be what can unify America
First of all, Happy Memorial Day.
I know many of you hate when I talk politics, but bear with me as I digest a few shocking revelations from a recent Harvard-Harris poll that both majorities of Republicans and Democrats agree upon.
Two things specifically.
First, 70% of Americans are somewhat or very concerned about election interference by the FBI or intelligence agencies in future Presidential elections.
That’s a wild statistic that shows Americans have very little confidence that their elections are not being meddled with illegally. Seriously, think about how few things 70% of Americans agree upon.
In addition, 71% of Americans, and a large majority of both Republicans and Democrats believe wide-ranging reform is necessary to prevent interference in elections by these government institutions.
I think you’d be hard pressed to find almost any contentious issue that 71% of Americans, specifically 76% of Republicans and 65% of Democrats, agree upon.
This shows the wild deterioration of trust in government by the American people.
Second, a large majority of Americans, almost 70%, again a majority of both Republicans and Democrats, are not surprised that the FBI violated its own policies to start the Trump-Russia probe.
This shows an incredible bipartisan distrust of the FBI.
A healthy Democratic government should not be showing numbers like these echoing deep distrust among its citizens that it will not interfere with elections and that they don’t follow their own policies. This is not a healthy place for a thriving country to be in.
And, considering how extremely shocking these poll figures are, I’ll pose a simple question: why are you reading about these poll figures from me and not seeing them on the front page of the NYT, Washington Post, or WSJ? Or hearing about them on CNN or even Fox News?
Interesting. Enjoy the holiday.
