So, Trump won handily, right? Well, sort of. He won all seven swing states, the electoral college, and the popular vote by five million votes. Pretty much all the reporting I’ve seen says that Trump has a mandate from the people.
Well, usually when the popular vote goes one way and the electoral college goes another, it favors Republicans. But what if things had been different this election? Harris would have won with 3 states: Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. So how close were those states?
Pennsylvania - 135,000
Michigan - 82,000
Wisconsin - 30,000
That's a total of 247,000 votes…out of 158,000,000 votes or 0.156% of voters.
This was actually an insanely close race, just like 2020. And there are people still calling for audits and recounts. I wouldn’t feel so comfortable with those margins if I were Donald Trump.
